Marshmellows...my favorite Fat~Free treat!
Second week of Fat Camp was soooo much better than I thought it was going to be...I figured out that I can have the things that I like but just in very small portions...it's better than not being able to have them at all, right?! Four big marshmellows have zero fat grams and it takes the edge off my sweet craving!
Today when I got on the scale at class time I was shocked that I had lost a few more pounds...8.7lbs all together...yehaw...made me feel like I had moved a mountain. The teacher today showed us fat grams for diffrent amounts of food and better choices that we can make and still be satisfied. Having 4 saltine crackers instead of four Ritz crackers, instead of 4 Hershey kisses have 4 pieces of hard candy and so on...it's all good!
My biggest concern before starting this weight loss plan was being tempted by food, because so much of my life's activities revolve around FOOD! I've tried to keep the mindset that it's not a big deal, that it's more important to loose weight than the food I get to eat. I went to Sheryl's this weekend.....she had made two pasta salads, steak, salmon, a turkey, salad, and two pies...I was there for a long time and didn't overeat...I think I passed the test....whew!
I'm looking forward to getting on the scale and loosing more weight, my clothes being looser and my biggest goal; to be rid of my chubby cheeks...oh that will make me SO happy!

Start Of Fat Camp

Today was the first day of what we call "Fat Camp". There are no crafts, or smores by the fire but instead a counselor that makes us keep a journal of the number of fat grams we eat in a day, while she struggles to loose that annoying THREE pounds! I know that would be devastating to me!

My diet today consisted of yogart for breakfast, a chicken breast & broccoli for lunch and a taco salad for dinner....it was a great variety and good for me too.

I decided that I would do my exercise shortly after I got home for work....so about 5:45pm I headed outside. I walked past the hospital toward Peace Hospice and the Benefis Nursing Home...who do I see but Sheryl getting out of her car getting ready to head in to see her Mama and give her a couple new little sweatsuits and a couple new bras. I wanted to see where Blanche lived so inside with Sheryl I went. B is in a Alzheimer's wing...God bless the people that work with these people! One lady had peed her pants and kept saying to me "Are you gonna take me for some tests". One cute, gray haired man scooted around the room in his wheelchair continually saying how STUPID one of his fellow wing mates was. One younger, Down Syndrome
girl cried the whole time and another laid her head down on the table. They played a game called "Three Letter Words", Blanche was one of the BEST players in the room. I love watching my friend Sheryl with her mother...touching her hair, giving her a kiss when we left...makes me miss my Mama!

Anyway, back to Fat Camp. After what I witnessedat the nursing home (the smell, the man in the wheelchair spittingon the floor and the walls with spatters of food on them)you'd think I wouldn't be hungry, BUT I walked a little longer and then went and got my Taco Salad....it has to be something really bad to keep me from eating...lol.
